So Long, Peaceful Mountain

by Momo the Wonder Dog

The Panda known as Tai Shan (peaceful mountain) is leaving the National Zoo in Washington D.C. and heading to China. Watch the effect he has on humans in the video below. When it comes to making life better, Tai Shan takes all your human world "leaders" and their puffed up "state departments" and knocks 'em into a cocked hat. What the world needs is more Pandas (and other animals) to show humans the right path.

Pandabonium says I have a certain effect on people too. I'm not sure what he means by that. I hope it's good. Gaze into my eyes.....

Aww Momo, you made me cry too. Yes, what we need is more pandas and other animals and certainly more of you too.

PandaB is right and you do look so adorable in the picture too. *hugs* Come to think of it, you do look somewhat like Tai Shan - so devastatingly cute!

Very touched. Peaceful Mountain you take care. What the world needs is love too which is lacking..

Well, I want to pet both of you. However, one of you is more portable and less likely savage me.

The BBC news short about the move ended with the phrase: "They like to eat bamboo shoots". For real, that was the last line before, "The is BBC News". It just seemed so non-sequitor.

I will also argue that a bunch of baby goats playing on a log pile would anything a run for you money in cuteness.

HappySurfer - no be sad - cry for happy. wag wag wag

Bananaz - thanks for visiting. love is the thing.

Arkonbey - for cuteness, kid goats are hard to "bleat" (tee hee).

Well, there's the joke about the panda that went into a restaurant, had a sandwich, shot the waiter and ran away. Later, the police came and said, "that's a Panda all right - look here in the dictionary: 'eats shoots and leaves'."

I have been quietly laughing about the shoot'n'leaves joke for 2 weeks now, why is it SO funny???

M - its the way of puns. An unexpected twist on the meaning of words is funny to the human brain. Same reason you like being fooled by illusions (think magic tricks) even after you learn how you are being fooled.

Me, I'm just a dog.

I'd much rather see people getting obsessed over an easy-going animal than a lot of other things.

Still...I have to wonder about the obvious hold Tai Shan has over people using his eyes.

"You...are in...my power..."

Spooky - like the original Dracula movie with Bela Legosi. He just stares at people and they bend to his will!
