My 2 year old granddaughter, Chloe - Maui, Hawaii
How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside--
Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown--
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
Robert Louis Stevenson

now that is a park! with lots of grass, unlike the ones I see around here. love the view too!
What a fantastic view. I could spend hours in that swing!
(Funny how panda-b offspring look nothing like regular teddy bears)
That was a nice match between a sweet picture and a fine poem. Thanks!
Wow....what a beautiful view for a beautiful girl! A charmed life I tell ya...
PS-I used to love swinging when I was a kid, I'm sure she probably enjoys it too!
That lucky girl looks like she's ready to go flying right off into that beautiful horizon!
Kat - Maui has some nice parks. This one is next to my other granddaughter's school (Chloe's big sis).
Martin - happily the Panda gene is recessive.
Snabby - thanks. credit goes to my daughter for taking a great pic.
Ladybug - born in paradise. I liked swings too. As an adult, my favorite ride at the county fair was the "wave swinger" - lots of swing seats suspended from a large disc that spins and tilts. It feels like flying.
Moody - my thoughts exactly. wait for me Peter Pan and Wendy!
It has been a long time I did not go on a swing, I need to find back the child in me.
Great image and a wonderful verse to go with it.
A Child's Garden of Verses - it was my most favourite book to read when I was young. I used to imagine myself on that swing - or visiting foreign countries when reading Travel. I hope that my mother has kept this book!
Ah, good old RLS! I remember those childhood poems.
The photo of your granddaughter swinging over the scenery is simply perfect.
LOL! Love that about the recessive Panda gene ;)
Lian - we should never lose our inner child. There is much happiness and wisdom there.
NZM - thanks. I hope your copy of the book is still around waiting for you.
Olivia - thanks. :p
Aww... what a view! Lucky girl!
