White Fluffy Stuff!

by Momo the Wonder Dog

This morning there was white fluffy stuff all over everything. I saw before just a little over a year ago (see: "What Is This Stuff?" January 7, 2006). It was snow! There was more of it this time- about six centimeters (2.36 inches).

May not be interesting if you live in an area where it snows a lot, but for us it's pretty exciting. My bird friend, Jyo, came by later and checked on me. He was out looking for things to eat and glad that the sun was out and would melt the snow.

By mid-morning it was bright and sunny, so Pandabonium took me for a walk. The snow felt cold on my paws and my legs and belly got wet. Pandabonium dried me off and brushed me when we got home. I'll stay out of the snow for now. It's pretty, but I prefer laying on my blanket in the sun.

I hope that the weather wherever you are is as you like it.

How beautiful Momo! Even though it was a cold, wet walk, it must have been interesting! BTW we saw the sun today for the 1st time in weeks! (but it was still cold, very frosty, freezing mornings last couple of days).

We've not had a pretty snow like that this year. Hopefully some Sunday afternoon we can get a few centimeters that melt overnight.

Ladybug - Last time it snowed, I stayed in my house all day, but this time it was fun to go for a walk in it. Glad we see the sun more often than every few weeks! Stay warm.

Wendy - yeah, that's a good idea. PandaB has a pair - well they're more ug shoes than boots. He just wears them inside the house though.

Uncle Snabby - sorry I didn't include you, but we must have been posting comments at nearly the same time. Snow that comes, looks pretty and is fun to play in for awhile then goes away is the BEST kind. :-p

Oh my Momo! what a surprise :) We had flurries in Osaka today, nothing that stayed frozen for very long though. Stay warm on your blanket.

Very cool Momo.

Your ancestors would have been very used to weather like this!

K & S - thanks. I've got an electric heater in the floor of my dog house to keep me warm at night.

NZM - I can't imagine what life must have been like at some mountain top temple in Tibet. Brrr!

I'm totally jealous and wish I had one too.

Snow is always so nice to look at.

Must be really cool.. I hope u have a little sweater when you are out.

Soon, spring will be coming and warm will come back.

Robin - since I'm not an indoor dog, I grow a nice thick winter coat, so stay warm.

The snow is pretty, but it makes it hard for a dog to smell many things and that's a big part how we experience the world.

Your fur looks wonderful, custom made for such weather. Don't catch a cold!

Please take P for more walks so we can enjoy his photos.

I was just happy that the snow had melted off the roads by the time I had to drive to work. Getting out of my driveway was the only part that offered any challenge, and that was just fine with me. I know from experience that trying to drive on those narrow, hilly roads when they're covered with half-frozen slush is a hair-raising affair.

It was pretty to look at, though.

Woah...it's snowing today, too! No, I guess it stopped already. Never mind.

(Didn't the weather forecast say "cloudy turning to clear in the afternoon"?!??)

Martin - thanks. I'm warm enough with my fur and I can always retreat to my dog house with the heated floor. PandaB isn't too keen on walking me when I might get wet and muddy, cuz then he has to clean me up and dry me off after, but I usually get a walk or two per day.

Moody - yeah, and PandaB was dumb enough to believe the weather forecast and rode his bike to town today. Ha ha.

Momo, you are a lucky doggie.
I wish I could rolling on that white snow or make a snowmomo.
I am suffering in a chilly cold weather in these days.

B.T.W.: In the first pic. you looked like a baby Lion with white fur.:=}

PinkPanther - cold weather in Macao? I would never have guessed. I hope you can stay cozy.

Lion? That is interesting. Did you know that my ancestors in Tibet were called "Shih-Tze-kou" - "The Lion Dogs"? Now we are just known as Shih Tzu.

But I can't roar.

B-r-r-r-rrrr!

Us Hill Country dogs (Beau, G and Prissy) would freak out if we saw that stuff!
